The Region 6 Logbook: Finding Logic in the Landscape
In my line of work, I spend a lot of time looking at grids, flows, and data points. But as an analyst based in Western Visayas, I’ve learned that the best inspiration doesn’t come from a monitor—it comes from the road.
From the bustling streets of Iloilo to the quiet, rhythmic tides of the Aklan coastline, Region 6 is a masterclass in “organic systems.”
The Rhythm of the Islands Traveling through the provinces of Panay and Guimaras isn’t just a getaway for me; it’s a recalibration. When you’re a “Kidney Warrior,” you learn to appreciate the tempo of life. You realize that just like a good system, nature has its own perfect timing. Whether it’s the way the sun hits the mangroves in the late afternoon or the organized chaos of a local talipapa, there is a beauty in the way things work when they are left to breathe.
Service by Sight Every time I visit a new municipality for a project, I make it a point to see the people first, not just the computers. You cannot build a digital system for a town you haven’t walked through. You have to taste the food, see the local landmarks, and understand the “vibe” of the community.
The Architect’s Map As I continue my 2026 journey, I’ll be documenting these stops. Not just as a tourist, but as a traveler looking for the intersection of heritage and progress.
If you ever find yourself on the roads of Region 6, take a moment to look past the destination. Look at the system of the land. It’s the most beautiful blueprint we have.
